Ship recycling

An expert platform for the development of innovative processes,

systems and products for the systematic dismantling of ships

and large-scale maritime structures.

Motivation & Goals

20210826-9.jpg

The ShipRec network aims to establish itself as the platform for various technological developments, with a view to covering the entire value chain of sustainable ship recycling. In doing so, the focus will be not only on innovative separation processes but also on the process as a whole. This encompasses not only handling but also a degree of mechanisation, as well as automation and digitalisation. The aim is to develop a comprehensive dismantling management system to address issues such as process planning using digital twins, sensor-assisted execution and handling, the management and recovery of materials, and the comprehensive documentation of all work steps. The objective is thereby to develop a scalable and transferable process for the dismantling of large maritime structures.
